Indeed, Rock Band could definitely do with some PJ, more Soundgarden or some Alice in Chains.

Alive/Angry Chair/Superunknown would be my preferred choices. And they're all fairly popular so it's not like they're out of the question.

btw, does anyone know when Supernaut is coming to the Xbox live store? I thought it was supposed to be months ago.

A lot of the songs that were listed in that picture I posted here have been released, but they weren't really released in the packs projected in the article. Since two albums have been announced for download between this month and next, I would say we will see it sometime soon as filler inbetween album releases.

Dammit, they better release it soon. That one song interests me more than half the songs that came on the Disc. hell, more than half the songs.

can we all agree that Guitar Hero: On Tour looks very disappointing?

There are only two songs I might even be slightly interested in playing out of all the ones announced. :(

I don't even know what the setlist is, but I knew it would be disappointing as soon as I heard Guitar Hero on the DS. Which reminds me, my earlier point was wrong; they will be releasing three Guitar Hero games this year.

What sucks is that Activision is snatching up artists and trying to keep Harmonix from using them (Slash/his stuff, Aerosmith, etc). So far they haven't really taken anything for me to get that upset about but it's bound to happen.

What's funny is that, if I remember correctly, Harmonix sold the Guitar Hero franchise simply because they wanted to work on their Rock Band idea, which Activision at the time wanted nothing to do with. Here we are a year (?) later and they're suddenly buying into the idea. If I'm remembering this wrong then the only thing funny about it is that I'm a meaty breasted zilch.

But yeah, I don't like the whole artist exclusivity thing. That Guitar Hero: Aerosmith thing seems destined for failure based on the premise alone.

Also Rock Band didn't jack shit from Guitar Hero since it is made by the parent company. I hate all the fucking plastic that's between the drum heads on the Guitar Hero drumset. Fuck ever shelling out that much money for a single game again.

So, then none of these games are jacking anything.
Even though I've never even heard of guitar freaks, I think the timed input to a song beat idea was taken from DDR.

Well yeah, but then you could say every FPS is stealing from whatever the first FPS was, and the first driving game is being ripped off, etc.

They are obviously taking what they at one point turned down and are making it their own now that they've seen Harmonix making money (but I guess that's the way everything in the world works). Plastic, simulation instruments already existed in Guitarfreaks and Drummania, but the idea of putting together a band simulation was (to the best of my knowledge) pioneered by Harmonix. There were rhythm/music games that pre-dated DDR. I believe Beatmania was one, although I can't honestly say I know much about the history of the rhythm/music genre. It all started for me with Harmonix's Frequency.

Well, sorry for my lack of knowledge on the topic. I never specifically liked the genre.

Well, my favorite part of Rock Band is actaually the singing. I do plan to get GH4(If the setlist sits well with me). But I enjpy Rock Band more. THe guitar tracks on GH are funner, but more instruments sells me. Plus Rock Band DLC>>>>>>>>>GHIII DLC.
I love the albums. I got Screaming for Vengence, and I will get The Cars, Who's Next, and Nevermind.
